A weekend of painting, walking, and gentle restoration at The Art House, St Davids
Join us for a special St David’s Day weekend retreat celebrating art, landscape, and wellbeing in the birthplace of Wales’s patron saint.
Over two days, we’ll walk the coastal paths around St Non’s Chapel, where St David was born, and explore the spiritual and natural beauty of this remarkable place through painting and quiet reflection.
Our art workshops will focus on capturing St Davids Cathedral and the cliffs of St Non’s, with guidance suitable for all abilities. Between sessions, unwind in our outdoor sauna, enjoy nourishing local food, and rest in the peaceful comfort of The Art House’s rooms, each with original artworks and views of the city and sea.
Whether you’re seeking inspiration, renewal, or simply time to breathe, this weekend offers space to reconnect—with nature, creativity, and yourself.
Prices based on two sharing from £510 for the three-night, two-day stay including two tutored art sessions, breakfast and access to the sauna. Other art retreat dates and workshops are available throughout 2026 with stays from £130 per room per night including breakfast and art sessions from £30pp.

We had an absolutely magical time at The Art House St Davids this weekend at one of Michelle's lino cut classes. She was the most fantastic, patient teacher and everyone had amazing results that we were delighted with!
Michelle sells gift vouchers for classes in her beautiful space in the heart of St Davids. A perfect gift for loved ones and such a fun activity for groups of friends too.

I hadn’t done any art since my school days and even then, I hadn’t taken O Level art.
However, recently, now in my 60s, I was getting in touch with my creative side and decided that I would embrace some new challenges.
So, I bravely enrolled on Michelle’s one day painting course having been assured that I didn’t need to bring anything as all materials etc would be provided and so would lunch! Even better ! All I had to bring was a’ give it a go attitude ‘Michelle is a very experienced art teacher and artist in her own right. From the start, she made us all feel relaxed and confidently said that we would all produce a painting to go home with. I was dubious! After a brief introduction, she instructed us step by step so that we didn’t feel overwhelmed with having to get a masterpiece down on the canvas in one go!
There was a wide range of ages in the class but we all had a good chat over a delicious lunch and enjoyed supporting and encouraging each other. It felt very inclusive and non judgemental. If anyone got really stuck at any point, Michelle was on hand to give tips and assistance.
The time flew by and before we knew it, it was time to take our creations home and true to her word, we had all produced something to be proud of!
If you’re up for trying something new, give it a go, you won’t regret it! Thank you Michelle.
